137 Women Scientists Award: Scientific Excellence from Turkey

L’Oréal Turkey has been continuously contributing to the world of science and the empowerment of women in science for 23 years. Acting on the belief that there is a deep need for science globally, the "Programme for Women in Science" carried out in collaboration with UNESCO Turkey National Commission aims to support women scientists across Turkey.

This program not only ensures that young and talented women scientists are recognized in society, but also aims to provide them with opportunities to become role models. To date, a total of 137 women scientists have been honored for their achievements through this award. Thus, an important step has been taken to promote excellence in the field of science.

As of 2023, 4 more women scientists who stand out with their work in the field of science have been awarded. Among these women, Assoc. Prof. Banu İyisan from Boğaziçi University stands out. Assoc. Prof. İyisan focuses on developing smart hybrid nanodrug systems that will revolutionize the fight against breast cancer.

Such scientific projects have the potential to revolutionize the health sector by providing significant innovations in the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Additionally, research conducted to address significant health issues such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, and Parkinson's disease is being advanced further with the contributions of women scientists.

All these efforts play a critical role in empowering women scientists in Turkey and making them more visible in the scientific field. Continuously awarding such honors in the coming years will encourage young women scientists and help them take significant steps in their scientific careers.
