The Century's Housing Project is the most comprehensive social housing initiative in the history of the Republic. With a total of 500 thousand social housing units planned to be built in 81 provinces, the project aims to enable low-income individuals to become homeowners.
The districts where the houses will be built have been determined as a result of evaluations made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Among the provinces where the most housing will be constructed are Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, and Konya.
Within the framework of the Century's Housing Project, a total of 100 thousand social housing units will be built in Istanbul. It is planned that the houses will be constructed in designated areas on both the Asian and European sides, taking into account horizontal architecture and the traditional neighborhood texture.
In the capital Ankara, 30 thousand 823 housing units have been designated for 21 different districts. Among these districts, developing areas such as Etimesgut, Mamak, Gölbaşı, and Sincan are prominent.
In Izmir, 21 thousand 20 housing units will be built, in Bursa 17 thousand 225 housing units, and in Konya 15 thousand housing units will be constructed. Among the districts in Izmir are Menemen, Aliağa, and Seferihisar, while Bursa includes important centers such as Karacabey and Mudanya, and in Konya, Meram and Karatay are also part of the project.
This project aims to contribute to the stabilization of housing prices and to meet the social housing needs. It is planned that the houses will be designed in 2+1 and 1+1 formats in this project run by the Housing Development Administration (TOKI).
