


Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made significant statements at the ATONET Smart Assistant World Championship Launch Program organized by the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) at ATO Congresium.
Yılmaz expressed that ATO demonstrates a strong transformation will by blending its deep-rooted history with an innovative vision. He emphasized that this approach has turned ATO into a strategic intelligence center capable of forecasting the future in the dynamic landscape of trade and the changing rules of global competition.
He noted that the award of the ATONET Smart Assistant Project as the world champion significantly contributes to Turkey's digital competitive power. Additionally, he stated that digitalization reshapes economic sizes, competitive strength, and the maneuvering space of states.
Yılmaz said, "This transformation, which spans from production to trade, public administration to global value chains, must place digitalization and artificial intelligence at the center of Turkey's development strategy."
Highlighting that Turkey's manufacturing industry production has increased by 30.6% compared to the pre-pandemic period, Yılmaz stated that Turkey has now become one of Europe's leading manufacturing centers.
Today, Turkey ranks 14th in the world in terms of added value in the manufacturing industry. This success is a result of the industry's adoption of digitalization and scaling production through technology.
Yılmaz indicated that they aim to build the Turkish Century with an artificial intelligence-focused transformation. He stated that the e-Government system currently has 68 million users and reaches 95% of the population. With these achievements, Turkey is positioned as an important exporting country in e-government and digital areas.
He also noted that Turkey's R&D expenditures are expected to rise to 19.9 billion dollars and highlighted that this aspect is critical for sustainable economic performance.
Yılmaz mentioned that the e-commerce volume was 136 billion liras in 2019 and is projected to reach 3 trillion liras by 2024, predicting that digital transformation will accelerate. He emphasized that this process should be accelerated through collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and professional organizations.
