The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), in collaboration with ITU ARI Technopolis, continues to reward innovative ideas in the energy sector within the scope of the Enerjim Sensin Acceleration Program. This year's final featured 3 initiatives and a total cash prize of 2 million 250 thousand Turkish Lira was awarded to these initiatives. This fund presents a significant opportunity for the transformation of energy and the use of renewable resources.
The successful initiative owners on the final stage drew attention with their innovative approaches in the sector. Ahmet Özkaya, General Director of Energy Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, emphasized in his opening speech, “Almost all of the capacity planned to be brought online this year, which is over 8,000 megawatts, will come from renewable sources.” Özkaya stated that support for local technologies and ideas would continue.
EPDK Energy Transition Department Head Dr. İbrahim Öz expressed that research and development (R&D) plays a vital role in the energy sector. Öz highlighted the importance of innovative projects by stating, “Every new idea developed will increase system efficiency, reduce losses, enhance customer satisfaction, and strengthen supply security.” He also noted that the EPDK's regulations are designed to encourage innovation.
Every step taken in the energy field carries the potential to integrate into Turkey's energy infrastructure. Supported projects will not only increase local energy production but also strengthen our country's energy supply security. Developments in the energy sector promise hope for the future and carry the potential to elevate Turkey to a stronger position in the global energy market with successful projects from local entrepreneurs.
