Artificial intelligence-supported applications have initiated a profound digital transformation process in public financial management. These innovations aim to enhance efficiency in financial processes, provide savings in resource utilization, and strengthen decision-making processes.

Integrated Public Financial Management Information System (IPFMIS)

With the developed IPFMIS, planning, budgeting, spending, accounting, reporting, and auditing processes have been fully integrated into a digital platform. Public financial transactions have been end-to-end digitized and standardized, resulting in faster, traceable, and more efficient operations.

Currently, central government public administrations are actively using this system.

Target of Expansion to Local Governments

It is planned to open the system to local authorities by 2026. The aim is to widespread this technology across all local governments, especially municipalities.

Savings and Sustainability through Digitalization

With the advantages provided by digitalization, paper-based transactions are significantly reduced. This leads to substantial savings in time, space, and transaction costs. It is projected that approximately 5,000 tons of carbon emissions will be prevented during the 2023-2025 period through electronic transactions.

Artificial intelligence-supported analytical applications allow for rapid and detailed evaluation of financial data while enhancing the capacity for e-audit, and making risk-based auditing methods more effective.

Identification of Inefficient Expenditures

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated that they have created an eco-friendly and sustainable public financial management infrastructure with this system. Minister Şimşek said, "Artificial intelligence-supported analyses are critically important in identifying inefficient expenditures. The efficient use of public resources and the data-driven format of decision-making processes are being achieved."

Minister Şimşek emphasized that they have achieved significant savings by increasing efficiency in public financial management thanks to the Integrated Public Financial Management Information System.
