XRP Catches Attention with Rising Momentum

XRP, as the leader of the revival in the cryptocurrency market, recorded a significant rise during the first week of 2026. According to CoinMarketCap data, XRP's market value reached $2.30 with a 9% increase in the last 24 hours, marking the highest level since November 13.

Impact of Technical and Fundamental Factors

Analysts note that this strong rise of XRP is supported by a combination of both technical and fundamental factors. BTC Markets cryptocurrency analyst Rachael Lucas stated, “We saw a breakout from a descending wedge formation recently, and the price has been trading above the 50-day moving average, which is a classical indicator of positive momentum.”

Lucas also mentioned that the liquidation of $31.76 million worth of short XRP positions in the last 24 hours is a clear indication that the buying activity and the closure of short positions triggered this rapid rise. The increase in trading volume also provided "an excellent recipe" for strong upward movement by enhancing short-term volatility, she added.

Spot XRP ETF Inflows Draw Attention

Kronos Research CIO Vincent Liu pointed out that the liquidity recorded after XRP broke significant resistance levels has further strengthened the rise. Liu emphasized that the inflows to spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have increased risk appetite, noting that on Monday alone, there was a net inflow of $46.1 million, the largest daily net inflow since December 3.

Since the launch of the first XRP ETF on November 13, funds have seen net inflows for eight weeks, totaling $1.23 billion. Lucas from BTC Markets said, “This consistent demand is based on clear factors such as the regulations clarified after the Ripple SEC settlement, interest in XRP’s role in cross-border payments, and the interest of long-term institutional investors looking for diversified positions beyond BTC and ETH.”
