Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin argued that the combination of cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence needs to be rethought. Buterin pointed out that the focus on artificial general intelligence risks overlooking the bigger picture.

In a new post on the X platform, Buterin revisited ideas he presented two years ago, stating that developments in artificial general intelligence are often progressing at a speed and scale that contradict the purpose of creating Ethereum.

He emphasized that the focus in developing AI systems should be on guidance that protects human freedom, distributes power more equitably, and prevents the risks of excessive artificial intelligence and daily security losses, rather than on a race to create stronger artificial intelligence.
