Unity 6 marks the beginning of the Android XR era.

San Francisco, October 22, 2025 -- Unity (NYSE: U), the leading platform for creating games and interactive experiences, announced that support for Android XR is now available with the release of Unity 6. This update makes it easier for developers to reach new audiences with their games and applications.

Alex Blum, Unity's COO, stated, "We integrated Android XR tools into Unity 6 in close collaboration with Google and Samsung, and we tested them with developers in real production environments before launch." He added, "We are not only optimizing for a single title but also creating an open and scalable Android XR ecosystem, allowing developers to reach new markets with less effort and more confidence."

Google Maps XR (by Google): This new version introduces the Immersive View feature, allowing users to explore locations in detailed 3D environments on Android XR.
NFL Pro Era (by StatusPRO Inc.): In addition to the existing versions on Android XR, the first licensed NFL virtual reality simulation game is now available.
Inside JOB (by Owlchemy Labs): This new mixed reality experience introduces users to Android XR interactions. Owlchemy has also brought popular games Vacation Simulator, Job Simulator, and Dimensional Doubleshift to Android XR.
