The 55th Ordinary General Assembly of TÜSİAD Took Place

The Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) held its 55th Ordinary General Assembly in Istanbul. During this important meeting, TÜSİAD Vice Chairman Ozan Diren commenced his term as the new president for the 2026-2027 period.

Orhan Turan: "Presidency is an Expression of Responsibility"

Outgoing president Orhan Turan emphasized in his speech before handing over the responsibility that the TÜSİAD presidency is a reflection of the responsibilities undertaken, beyond just a personal time frame. Turan underscored the need to develop mutually listening relationships.

Turan highlighted the projects carried out during his presidency. He stressed the importance of strengthened international relations with the USA, China, and the European Union, stating, "In this process, we aimed to progress on key axes such as the Republic and democracy, development, and the environment."

Green Transformation and Opportunities for Youth

Turan expressed that TÜSİAD's developed program “There is a Job in This Youth!” aimed at creating an ecosystem by offering opportunities to young people. He also highlighted environmental awareness, stating, "We have taken significant steps for green transformation."

New President Ozan Diren's Vision

Newly appointed Ozan Diren emphasized the importance of a productivity-based development in the business world, saying, "Our greatest goal is to ensure sustainable economic growth for our country." Diren noted that utilizing Turkey's geographical advantages and young population will help create strategic approaches that generate significant opportunities.

Productivity and Growth Strategies

TÜSİAD High Advisory Council President Ömer Aras also stated that Turkey could succeed with a data-driven development model, asserting, "A productivity-based development model is essential for Turkey's sustainable prosperity." In this context, he emphasized that modernizing the Customs Union is a critical necessity for both sides.
