Turkey and Libya's Economic Cooperation Offers New Opportunities for Africa

Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Turkey-Libya Business Council Chairman and Karanfil Holding Board Chairman Murtaza Karanfil emphasized that the economic collaborations between Turkey and Libya present new and exciting opportunities not only for the countries in the region but also for the entire African continent.

It was noted that these collaborations not only reinforce the strategic interests of both countries but also deepen trade relations in Africa. The Ministry of Trade, in coordination with the African Union and organized by DEIK, took significant steps to strengthen business relations between the two countries within the framework of the Turkey-Africa Business and Economy Forum (TABEF). The forum was held in Istanbul under the theme "Strengthening Turkey-Africa Relations to Share Common Gains."

The topics discussed on this platform provided an opportunity for information exchange about projects and investments that would increase Turkey's economic presence in Africa, while also aiming to enhance cooperation in common business areas between the two countries. Karanfil stated that Turkey's experience in construction, energy, agriculture, and industry can be applied in Libya and other African countries. Such collaborations not only encourage economic growth but also strengthen the sense of trust and solidarity between the two countries.

During the forum, investment opportunities were evaluated with the participation of investors from various sectors, creating opportunities for the development of new projects. Additionally, steps to enhance the opening of Turkish companies to the African market and to increase existing collaborations were detailed. This situation is regarded as an important strategy to strengthen Turkey’s role in Africa.

Karanfil also expressed that Turkey, in addition to its trade with Libya, would deepen its relations with other African countries, contributing to the continent's economic integration. Economic collaborations will expand even further through investments in areas such as energy, food security, and infrastructure projects.
