


The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will hold an important meeting on January 22, 2026. During this meeting, the Central Bank will announce its interest rate decision at 14:00.
In its previous meeting on December 11, 2025, the CBRT reduced the policy interest rate from 39.5% to 38%. However, market expectations indicate that at the meeting on January 22, the interest rate will be lowered by 150 basis points to 36.5%. In this context, according to data from AA Finance's expectation survey, 3 economists predict a 100 basis point cut, 42 economists predict a 150 basis point cut, and 1 economist anticipates a 200 basis point cut.
The median year-end policy interest rate expectation of economists has been set at 28%. This situation highlights the importance of discussions in the markets regarding Turkey's economic outlook. The decisions the CBRT makes are closely monitored by both local and international investors.
