Turkcell is ready for the 5G era with a $28 billion investment.

Turkey is preparing to take an important step in digital communication with the 5G auction scheduled for October 16. Turkcell has announced a significant investment by allocating a total budget of 28 billion dollars. The company aims to fully launch 5G technology by April 1, 2026.

Turkcell General Manager Ali Taha Koç emphasized that this historical decision taken in Turkey’s digitalization journey is not only the beginning of a new era in communication technology but also a critical turning point for Turkey’s digital future. Koç stated that this large investment would enhance Turkey's competitiveness in the technology field.

5G technology stands out with advantages such as high-speed internet access, low latency, and high data transfer capacity. This new generation communication infrastructure has the potential to revolutionize many sectors, including health, education, transportation, and more. With this investment from Turkcell, it is expected that Turkey will reach its digitalization goals more quickly.
