According to the data from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union (DKİB), Turkish salmon is transferred to cages in the Black Sea after reaching a certain weight in specially designed inland farms, where it is cultivated. This process is of great importance for both quality control and sustainable fishing practices.
As of January-September 2023, Turkish salmon has found buyers in a total of 30 countries. The widespread nature of this export indicates how effective Turkish producers are in the international market. The success achieved, especially in European and Asian markets, proves that the quality of Turkish salmon meets international standards.
The revenue generated from Turkish salmon also highlights the sector's growth potential. Among the exporters' goals is to increase these figures further in the coming periods.
