Türk-İş Confederation regularly conducts research every month to examine the living conditions of workers and analyze the impacts of price changes in essential goods on family budgets. The results for December 2025 have been published recently.

Poverty Line and Family Budget

The monthly food expenditure for a family of four, or the poverty line, has been determined to be 30,143 TL. This figure highlights the struggles that working families face in making ends meet.

Poverty Threshold and Essential Expenses

The poverty threshold includes not only food expenses but also mandatory monthly expenditures such as clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel), transportation, education, and healthcare. According to the calculations made in this context, the total mandatory expenditure required for basic needs has been calculated as 98,188 TL.
