Trump and Zelensky Meet for Peace Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Florida for peace negotiations. After the meeting, Trump stated, "I think we are in the final stages of the talks. This war will either come to an end or continue for a long time."

Trump and Zelensky gathered at Trump’s residence, Mar-a-Lago. Before the meeting, they expressed hopeful sentiments to the press about potential positive developments during the discussions. Trump described Zelensky as "very brave and someone who has worked hard for this process."

Communication with Putin

Following the meeting, Trump indicated that he would have a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and continued that negotiations would proceed in this manner. Trump expressed that they organized this meeting in hopes of ending the war as soon as possible.

Security Guarantees and Peace Plan

Trump provided insights regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, stating, "There will be strong security guarantees for Ukraine, and European countries will be involved in this process." Zelensky emphasized that they were intensively working on a 20-point peace plan, stating, "90% of this plan has been prepared by the teams from both sides. They did a great job."

Zelensky also highlighted that the proposed plan would bring significant economic benefits to Ukraine, saying, "Our teams have been working on welfare and security documents. We will discuss this strategy, and I hope these documents will contribute to peace."

Finally, Trump announced that during the meeting they would also communicate with the European Council and would be able to provide updates to the press after the negotiations.
