At the beginning of his speech, he said, "I will be going to South Korea in two weeks to meet with President Xi. We will discuss many topics there. I hope these negotiations will yield good results."

However, Trump also conveyed the message that the meeting might not take place, stating, "We aim to reach a fair agreement with China. I expect a successful meeting (with Xi), but it may not happen."
