U.S. President Donald Trump provided information about the ceasefire process in Gaza and peace plans during a press conference held at the White House with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
Trump emphasized that the ceasefire process in Gaza is progressing well and that all countries in the region support the plan.
Trump stated that, as part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, prisoners would be released on Monday or Tuesday. "I think it will be great. I will probably be there that day. We plan to leave on Sunday. Everyone in Israel and many of the countries I see is celebrating," he said.
In response to a question about a two-state solution, Trump mentioned that they could look into this matter "when the time comes" and that they need to reach that stage first. Finnish President Stubb thanked Trump for his contribution to this process and noted that the ceasefire in Gaza is a historic step.
Trump also answered questions regarding the Nobel Peace Prize, claiming that he has contributed to the end of 7 wars to date. He also recalled that former U.S. President Barack Obama won the award, arguing that Obama was a bad president.
President Trump addressed the issue of defense spending among NATO member countries, claiming that Spain is "dragging its feet" on this matter unlike other countries. Continuing his criticisms, he stated, "Perhaps you should remove them from NATO."
