Toyota Invests 912 Million Dollars in the U.S.

HANDE BERKTAN

Toyota Motor has announced that it will invest a total of 912 million dollars in five production facilities located in the United States. This strategic investment stands out as a move to increase hybrid vehicle production. To meet rising demand, the automotive giant plans to significantly expand its hybrid vehicle production.

Major Investment in Hybrid Vehicles

These investments, which reinforce Toyota's leadership in the hybrid vehicle market, are part of the company's goal to invest up to 10 billion dollars in the U.S. over the next five years. This situation represents a critical step for Toyota and the automotive industry to cope with the impacts of tariffs and the expiration of federal tax incentives offered for electric vehicles.

Distribution and Goals of the Investment

The capital will be allocated among Toyota's five factories in the states of West Virginia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Missouri. The investments will primarily focus on adding new production lines for components used in hybrid vehicles. Initially, approximately 125 million dollars is planned to be spent on the hybrid-electric Toyota Corolla to be assembled in the United States.

Additionally, the largest investment of 453 million dollars will go to the Buffalo factory in West Virginia. This investment will focus on increasing the production of 4-cylinder hybrid-compatible engines, sixth-generation hybrid transmissions, and rear motor components.
