


The results of market supervision for the year 2025 have been announced. The Ministry of Trade announced that a total of 2.6 billion lira in administrative fines has been imposed during inspections against unfair practices in domestic trade.
In the statement, it was noted that 577,771 businesses and 41,265,285 products were inspected in 2025, and a total of 2 billion 658 million lira in fines was imposed due to excessive pricing practices and other unfair commercial actions.
During the inspections, a total of 121,649 individuals and legal entities were examined in sectors such as automotive, real estate, and jewelry. A total of 5,793 companies that engaged in excessive pricing were fined 969.8 million lira. The notable penalty amounts are as follows:
In Istanbul, where inspections were conducted intensively, 10.9 million products were inspected, and 198,415 irregularities were detected. A total fine of 716.8 million lira was imposed on these products. In other major cities like Ankara and Antalya, 8,178,362 and 5,861,567 products were inspected, respectively.
The Directorate General for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance continues its meticulous inspections on consumer contracts and advertisements in daily life. In 2025, 36,208 businesses were inspected, and 616.1 million lira in fines was imposed. Of these fines, 325.3 million lira was due to irregularities in housing sales and subscription contracts.
Additionally, the Competition Authority imposed fines of 7.7 billion lira on 223 firms in 2024. In 2025, this figure was determined to be 13.2 billion lira for 227 firms. The Ministry will continue to fight against inflation and excessive pricing issues with determination.
