Türkiye Elektrik İletim AŞ (TEİAŞ) announced the capacity payments determined for August. Within this scope, the total amount of payments to be made to 32 power plants has been set at 1 billion 142 million 262 thousand 417 liras.
The distribution of payments will be made based on the activities of the power plants. Particularly, the total payment to be received by the power plant named Hidro-Gen constitutes the highest amount. This situation once again highlights the importance of hydroelectric power plants in Turkey's electricity system.
The capacity mechanism plays a critical role in ensuring Turkey's energy security and maintaining balances in electricity production. TEİAŞ aims to sustain continuity in energy production through the payments it makes to power plants via this mechanism.
