Supermicro has unveiled its latest AI-accelerated solutions with the introduction of a new 10U air-cooled server equipped with AMD Instinct MI355X graphics processing units (GPUs). This new system offers groundbreaking performance for artificial intelligence and inference workloads, enabling shorter development cycles and faster time-to-market.
The new server provides up to a 400% improvement in AI computing and a 35% leap in inference performance compared to the previous generation. Supermicro showcased these innovations at its event in San Jose, California, and St. Louis, Missouri.
Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI) stands out in the industry by offering comprehensive IT solutions across artificial intelligence, cloud, storage, and 5G/Edge domains. Vik Malyala, Senior Vice President of Technology and AI at Supermicro, stated, "Supermicro has the most experience in the industry in delivering high-performance solutions to our customers. Our DCBBS architecture enables us to rapidly bring advanced technologies to market." The addition of air-cooled AMD Instinct MI355X GPU systems broadens customer options and helps build next-generation data centers.
Supermicro is expanding its high-performance product range with new 10U air-cooled servers alongside liquid-cooled offerings. These systems integrate seamlessly with the existing industry standard OCP Accelerator Module (OAM), providing 288GB of HBM3e and 8TB/s bandwidth for each GPU. The power upgrade from 1000W TDP to 1400W TDP significantly enhances performance, allowing for rapid data processing.
Travis Karr, Vice President of Business Development at AMD, stated, “We are proud to launch the air-cooled AMD Instinct MI355X GPU in partnership with Supermicro.” These GPU solutions are designed to deliver maximum performance for scalable artificial intelligence and inference for cloud service providers and enterprises.
The new Supermicro servers are being showcased at the SC25 event in St. Louis. The server portfolio accelerated by the AMD Instinct MI350 series GPUs highlights the next-generation data center solutions based on the DCBBS architecture.
Supermicro shares more information about the new 10U air-cooled server on its website.
