Stellantis has formed a strategic partnership with Nvidia, Uber, and Foxconn to develop autonomous vehicles. The automaker took this step with the goal of capitalizing on the increasing demand for autonomous vehicles.
This collaboration will integrate Nvidia's autonomous driving software and artificial intelligence computation power, Uber's mobility services, and Foxconn's electronics manufacturing capabilities, supported by Stellantis's production capacity. The aim is to deploy a robotaxi fleet at level 4 of autonomous driving.
The companies plan to initiate production in 2028. After the initial operations begin in the United States, Uber will introduce 5,000 units of Stellantis's autonomous vehicles in selected cities.
Earlier in the day, Nvidia unveiled a new autonomous vehicle technology platform called Hyperion. Additionally, CEO Jensen Huang announced their partnership with Uber to establish a robotaxi network.
