SpaceX, the space exploration company led by Elon Musk, has made a move that has generated significant excitement in the cryptocurrency market. Arkham Intelligence, a blockchain analytics firm, announced that SpaceX executed a transfer of 1,215 Bitcoin. This action came just a few days after the company transferred a similar amount to addresses under its control.
On Friday, the firm stated via the X platform, "SpaceX moved a total of $133.7 million in funds. 300 Bitcoin ($33M) and 915 Bitcoin ($100.7M) were transferred to new wallets." An important point is that, unlike SpaceX’s previous transfers, it has not yet been determined whether the new wallets belong to the California-based company.
Before these transfers, SpaceX held a total of 8,285 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $914 million. According to data from BitcoinTreasuries.net, this indicates that the company ranks fourth among private companies in terms of its Bitcoin treasury portfolio.
Additionally, Tesla Inc. holds 11,509 Bitcoin, with a Bitcoin portfolio exceeding $1.27 billion. SpaceX’s significant transfer has the potential to cause considerable effects in the Bitcoin market. The company’s previous Bitcoin holdings position it high among private companies with Bitcoin treasuries.
Any change in such a large portfolio can lead to fluctuations in the markets. Furthermore, this transfer raises questions about SpaceX’s future plans regarding its Bitcoin assets. The company’s silence on the matter has led to speculation about potential sales or investments.
At the same time, this situation also demonstrates the increasing trend of major corporations investing in Bitcoin; Tesla Inc. also holds a significant Bitcoin portfolio.
