Lily Liu, President of the Solana Foundation, expressed that the blockchain technology needs to refocus on the finance sector following the fluctuations in the cryptocurrency market. Liu shared her thoughts on this matter on X platform on Thursday.

Liu emphasized that the narratives that have existed for years, presenting blockchain technology as a broad backup for the internet, have proven insufficient. Liu, who will also speak at the Consensus event to be held in Hong Kong next week, criticized the efforts to integrate the technology into gaming and general “web3” consumer narratives. She stated that such approaches are based on marketing strategies and are intellectually lazy rather than creating a deeper market.
