The United States Senate has approved a broad package of nominations put forward by President Donald Trump. This package includes two officials who play significant regulatory roles in the crypto sector.
The Senate confirmed Mike Selig's appointment as the head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). At the same time, Travis Hill was deemed suitable for leadership of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
Mike Selig will take on a crucial role as a crypto regulator. This appointment comes as Caroline Pham transitions from her temporary presidency. Pham was pursuing a rather aggressive crypto policy agenda until a permanent director is appointed.
