SBI and Startale Aim for Global Management with Regulated New Stablecoin

SBI's New Stablecoin Project

SBI plans to launch a fully regulated stablecoin in yen. This token will be issued by Shinsei Trust & Banking and will be used for global payments.

Additionally, this stablecoin will work alongside the USDSC dollar stablecoin developed by Startale. The project will also contribute to Japan's digital yen experiments and the sandbox application under the Financial Services Agency (FSA).

Project Timeline

SBI aims to launch this new stablecoin in the second quarter of 2026. However, compliance and regulatory approvals must be completed before the launch.
