Salesforce has introduced a new AI-powered Slackbot for the workplace software company Slack. This development comes at a time when the company aims to make communication and workflows more efficient.
The revamped Slackbot enables users to quickly access information by consolidating their chats, files, channels, and much more in one central location on Slack. According to Slack's statements, this AI-powered bot can better understand teams' communication styles and decision-making processes, providing more accurate and useful results.
An important feature is that the Slackbot can only view messages and files that are accessible to the user. In this regard, it respects existing permissions, ensuring user privacy. This aims to provide a secure working environment.
The Slackbot not only performs searches within Slack but also can access data from different services such as Salesforce, Google Drive, Box, and Atlassian's Confluence. This integration facilitates the flow of information across different platforms for users.
According to the announcements, the Slackbot will start being made available for early access to Business+ and Enterprise+ customers from today, with this process expected to continue until February. This new feature will help businesses have more effective communication and workflows.
Salesforce acquired Slack in December 2020 for $27.7 billion in cash and stock. This strategic acquisition is seen as part of Salesforce's goal to increase its market share in workplace solutions.
