Significant Fine from the Competition Board to Şişecam

Türkiye Şişe ve Cam Fabrikaları AŞ (Şişecam) and its subsidiary Şişecam Çevre Sistemleri AŞ (Çevre Sistemleri) have concluded the investigation conducted against them. The Competition Board has carried out inspections during this process to monitor whether the commitments made on 21.10.2021 with decision number 21-51/712-354 were adhered to.

Violation of Commitments and Penalty

In the conducted investigation, it was determined that Şişecam and Çevre Sistemleri, along with Karacalar Nak. Oto. Geri Dönüşüm San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. (Karacalar), violated Article 4 of the Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition by engaging in actions aimed at restricting competition, such as price-setting for glass scrap, sharing regions or customers, and exchanging sensitive information regarding competition.

Amount of Fine and Decision Announcement

The Competition Board has decided to impose an administrative monetary fine totaling 3,154,657,221.00 TL on Şişecam and Çevre Sistemleri group due to these violations. This decision was announced with report number 25-39/927-542. The primary reason for the fine was stated as the company's failure to comply with the purchase limitations specified in their commitments.
