Pegasus Airlines, according to CEO Güliz Öztürk's statements, forecasts that the number of passengers it will serve by the end of 2023 will exceed 40 million. Last year, the company provided transportation services to 37.5 million passengers and is determined to increase its targets this year with significant growth.
Öztürk also addressed strategic steps for the coming years. According to agreements made, the first Boeing deliveries are expected to be added to the fleet as of 2028. In addition, it was stated that 43 Airbus A321 aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of 2029. These developments represent an important milestone in line with Pegasus's growth targets.
Pegasus will commence connected flights to Miami, USA, starting November 1, thanks to a "code-sharing" agreement with Spain's national airline Iberia. Passengers will be able to travel to Miami via Iberia after reaching Madrid with Pegasus. Güliz Öztürk emphasized that this connection is an important step in increasing Pegasus's international presence.
All these developments reflect Pegasus's efforts to enhance its competitive power within the sector and its growth targets. The anticipated exceeding of the expected number of passengers by the end of the year is also considered a positive signal for investors.
