Palo Alto Networks Accelerates Growth with AI in Cybersecurity

Palo Alto Networks is expanding its artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity offerings to ensure the security of its customers' business operations in the face of increasing cyberattacks. The company's AI tools, combined with plans to acquire CyberArk Software, are providing deepening security solutions under the impact of large-scale cyberattacks.

Palo Alto CEO Nikesh Arora stated that recent cyber breaches have highlighted how the compromise of backend infrastructure can put thousands of customers at risk. This situation poses a significant threat, as it exposes vulnerabilities in shared source code that lead to major issues.

The company announced innovations related to its new cloud security platform Cortex Cloud and artificial intelligence application security platform Prisma AIRS. Prisma AIRS 2.0 creates an integrated platform that secures artificial intelligence applications from development to deployment by integrating technologies acquired from the newly acquired Protect AI company based in Seattle. Additionally, AI systems automatically detect security vulnerabilities in other systems.

Cortex Cloud 2.0 also includes an agentic platform called Cortex AgentiX and a cloud command center developed to display risks and threats across cloud services from different providers. Customers will have the ability to customize these agents for specific user roles. Arora noted that the pricing for the new agentic AI offerings will be consistent with the existing Cortex XSOAR platform, which automates and integrates incident response.

“We will not take actions that customers cannot reverse or that will occur without human intervention. Therefore, most of our agents will involve human intervention,” he said. The agents have been trained on 1.2 billion real-world security incident responses. The company expects to launch the independent AgentiX platform in early next year.
