Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) and Lumen Technologies Inc. (NYSE:LUMN) have formed a significant partnership, which envisions the integration of Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) into Lumen's network infrastructure. Executives stated that this step would open up America's 'data super highways' and accelerate businesses' adoption of artificial intelligence.

Palantir CEO Alex Karp and Lumen CEO Kate Johnson viewed the agreement as a critical milestone in modernizing U.S. infrastructure. Karp emphasized that the partnership has the potential to make existing infrastructures 200 times faster and more cost-effective.

Johnson described the combined offering as a 'holy grail' for companies, noting that Lumen's infrastructure for real-time data analysis and management, when combined with Palantir's artificial intelligence platform, could handle large data loads effectively.

Karp preferred not to confirm reports suggesting the agreement was worth about 200 million dollars, but he referred to it as 'a very large deal' and 'a transformative partnership for the company.' Lumen is acting as a 'customer zero' by restructuring its operations through the Palantir platform before offering this service to customers.

Johnson stated that Palantir's software helps to 'free' data from Lumen’s internal applications, with the goal of reducing operational costs and speeding up transformation. Johnson also confirmed that Palantir plays a critical role in the path toward their goal of 1 billion dollars in cost savings.

Both CEOs assessed this partnership as vital for the U.S.'s competitiveness and national security. Johnson emphasized the significant gap between what is necessary for success in the artificial intelligence economy and the existing infrastructure, while Karp noted that the old telecom infrastructure is inadequate to support AI-driven workloads.

Karp asserted that we are in an arms race in the field of artificial intelligence, and the urgency of this situation is unquestionable. 'We are in an arms race here... Artificial intelligence must be in our hands, or our competitors will take it and set the rules,' he stated.

Palantir shares rose by 1.81% before Monday. The stock has gained 310.56% this year and 145.55% year-to-date, outperforming the S&P 500's 15.73% YTD gains. The short, medium, and long-term price trends remain very strong, while the shares are still positioned low in the valuation rankings.
