GMI Cloud has announced a $500 million partnership with NVIDIA to establish a next-generation artificial intelligence factory in Taiwan. This facility will be positioned as a significant center within NVIDIA's global AI Factory strategy and will greatly contribute to AI development in Asia.
AI Factory provides businesses with a high-performance environment for large-scale artificial intelligence model training and inference. Utilizing advanced technologies based in Australia, the facility aims to maintain data and computation independence and represents a new architectural model for large-scale AI deployment.
The center of the facility is a supercomputer equipped with 7,000 NVIDIA GPUs, capable of processing 2 million tokens per second across 96 high-density racks. The system supports various workloads, including large-scale inference, fine-tuning, and multi-modal AI operations.
Many partners have announced use cases developed on the AI Factory: Trend Micro plans to enhance cybersecurity with digital twin simulations, while WiAdvance will develop AI-powered smart manufacturing and computer vision technologies. Additionally, CSI will provide integrated ICT services covering 5G, AIoT, and data center operations, and VAST Data aims to create a next-generation data platform for large GPU clusters.
GMI Cloud stated that this AI Factory represents a significant milestone in accelerating the AI adoption process in the region from experimental pilots to full-scale, production-level deployment.
