One of the leading media companies in the USA, People Inc., signed a significant artificial intelligence licensing agreement with technology giant Microsoft. This strategic partnership is seen as a new step towards developing Microsoft's AI solutions.
Under this agreement, Microsoft gains access rights to the media content owned by People Inc. to use these contents for developing the language models of the Copilot application. The aim is to ensure that AI systems produce more accurate and contextually appropriate responses.
People Inc. announced this agreement alongside the third-quarter financial reports disclosed by its parent company IAC. It is noted that Microsoft is positioned as a new launch partner in the content market. This is Microsoft's second AI-focused agreement after its collaboration with OpenAI.
People Inc. CEO Neil Vogel stated, "The new marketplace offers a direct, flexible payment option for publishers regarding the usage of content by AI players, presenting an 'a la carte' model." Vogel also evaluated Microsoft’s commitment to purchasing content to support its AI initiatives as a positive step.
