The Central Government Debt Stock is approaching the limit of 13 trillion Lira.

Central Government Debt Stock Reached 12.96 Trillion Lira

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has shared the data on the central government gross debt stock as of September 30, 2023, with the public.

According to the statement, the central government debt stock increased to 12.96 trillion lira at the end of September. This amount shows a significant increase compared to the 12 trillion 45.3 billion lira recorded in the previous month.

This debt stock consists of 46%, or 6 trillion 74 billion 231 million lira in Turkish Lira, while the remainder consists of 6 trillion 889 billion 785 million lira in foreign currency debts.

Distribution of Treasury Receivables

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance also announced important data regarding Treasury receivables as of the same date. Accordingly, Treasury receivables reached 33.5 billion lira by the end of September.

The largest share among receivables comes from local authorities, which account for 11.2 billion lira of the total receivables. Additionally, as of the mentioned date, a collection of 6.2 billion lira was made from Treasury receivables.
