The Central Government Debt Stock is approaching 13 trillion lira.

Central Government Debt Stock Reached 12.96 Trillion Lira

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance shared the central government's gross debt stock data with the public as of September 30, 2023.

According to the statement, the central government debt stock increased to 12.96 trillion lira at the end of September. This amount shows a significant increase from the 12 trillion 45.3 billion lira recorded in the previous month.

Of this debt stock, 46%, or 6 trillion 74 billion 231 million lira, is in Turkish Lira, while the remaining 6 trillion 889 billion 785 million lira consists of foreign currency debts.

Distribution of Treasury Receivables

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance also disclosed important data regarding Treasury receivables as of the same date. Accordingly, Treasury receivables reached 33.5 billion lira at the end of September.

The largest share within receivables belongs to local authorities, which account for 11.2 billion lira of the total receivables. Additionally, until the specified date, 6.2 billion lira was collected from Treasury receivables.
