The President and CEO of Mercedes Benz Türk, Süer Sülün, made important statements on the Upper Level program hosted by Arzu Maliki on Bloomberg HT.

Emphasis on Social Benefit and Education

Sülün spoke about corporate social responsibility projects, stating, "Our preference is for an approach that prioritizes social benefit. We are broadening the scope of social responsibility and calling it 'social benefit.' We have identified four fundamental pillars: education, culture-art, and the environment."

The Success Story of the "Every Girl is a Star" Project

Sülün provided information about one of their biggest projects, "Every Girl is a Star", saying, "Our project, which started in 2004, has reached 7,000 girls. We are supporting their education processes with 20,000 scholarships," he mentioned. He noted that 30% of graduates are placed in prestigious universities.

Contribution to Equal Opportunities

Sülün emphasized that the project specifically targets girls living in financially disadvantaged provinces, stating, "We take into account equal opportunities in education. Access to education for women is more challenging compared to men."

Projects Addressing Employment and Skilled Labor Solutions

Mercedes Benz Türk has established laboratories in 34 schools across 30 provinces to address the skilled labor problem in Turkey. Sülün announced, "Last year, we employed 76 young graduates."

He also mentioned providing scholarships for female engineers and supporting students studying at Boğaziçi University.

Support for Culture and Art

Sülün explained the long-standing support for culture and arts with examples. "For instance, we have been a sponsor of the Troy excavations for many years; we are currently supporting the Patonea excavation in Istanbul. We also provide mentorship support to young artists," he said.

Sustainability and Environmental Projects

Sülün stated that they have taken serious steps regarding water and energy conservation, as well as the 40,000 sapling project in Aksaray, saying, "We have removed single-use plastics."

Support Projects for the Earthquake Region

After the earthquake on February 6, he reported that they sent 11 truckloads of aid and initiated permanent support projects, also highlighting their contributions to projects such as the Child Welfare Center.
