Support for Women in Science from L'Oréal Turkey

L’Oréal Turkey continues to support bold women who lead scientific studies with 23 years of experience. This year, four women scientists who have made significant contributions in the field of science were awarded.

Awarded Women Scientists and Their Projects

The women scientists and their projects who were deemed worthy of the award are as follows:

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banu İyisan (Boğaziçi University): Aims to develop smart hybrid nano drug systems for breast cancer.
• Dr. Dilara Nemutlu Samur (Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University): Researches new methods for the early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.
• Dr. Duygu Kuzuoğlu Öztürk (Sabancı University): Develops alternative solutions for prostate cancer treatment.
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Figen Öktem Seven (METU): Works on low-cost hyperspectral imaging systems.

Special Publication for Women in Science

L’Oréal Turkey has published a book that highlights the successes of women in science: “For Women in Science: The Stories of Brave Turkish Women Following the Trail of Science”. This book brings together the life stories and inspiring tales of previously awarded women scientists. The proceeds from book sales will be donated to youth-oriented robotic education projects through the Science Heroes Association.

Social Transformation and Women in Science Program

L’Oréal Turkey aims to achieve social transformation by making the successes of women scientists visible. With this year's awards, in which it provided 1.2 million TL of financial support, it aims to increase social awareness in the field of science.

L’Oréal Turkey Country General Manager Vanya Panayotova emphasized that this program is not just an award, but also a story of social transformation. The program is actively conducted in collaboration with UNESCO in over 110 countries.
