Kıvanç Zaimler, CEO of Sabancı Holding, has been elected as the new co-chair at the World Economic Forum, which drives energy transition globally.
Zaimler will lead efforts to shape the strategic agenda of the Advanced Energy Solutions Platform, set global priorities, and work towards the effective scaling of advanced energy solutions.
This platform aims to bring together innovative companies and leaders within the global ecosystem in areas such as clean fuels, hydrogen, next-generation nuclear technologies, energy and carbon storage, with the goal of accelerating the widespread adoption of these technologies.
Robust collaboration among technology developers, energy producers, investors, and the public to address the economic, technological, and social aspects of the energy transition is among the platform's priorities.
In addition to being the CEO of Sabancı Holding, Zaimler holds active roles in various strategic platforms, including Vice Presidency of the World Energy Council Turkey, Membership of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul International Energy and Climate Center (IICEC), and Membership of the Advisory Board of the SHURA Energy Transition Center.
Zaimler continues to represent Turkey and the Sabancı Group in global platforms such as COP Climate Summits and the World Economic Forum, contributing to international decisions on energy and climate policies. The Advanced Energy Solutions group includes 20 international companies active in energy and climate technologies. Only Sabancı Holding represents Turkey in this platform.
