As of today, the obligation to use winter tires in commercial vehicles engaged in passenger and freight transportation on intercity roads has come into effect. Based on seasonal conditions, this update revises the winter tire obligation from the previous annual period of December 1 to April 1, to November 15 to April 15 this year.
This implementation is one of the measures taken to increase traffic safety during the winter months. Using winter tires for commercial vehicles is crucial for the safety of drivers and passengers. Changing tires on vehicles traveling in winter conditions improves driving performance in challenging weather and minimizes the risk of accidents.
In addition to using winter tires, drivers may face a series of costs related to changing these tires. Tire change fees may vary depending on different service providers. On average, you may need to pay a fee between 50-150 TL for the tire changing process; this price may increase depending on the quality of the chosen service and the number of tires.
With the commencement of the tire changing process, it is important for drivers and businesses to prepare for this. The use of winter tires and the timely installation of these tires are critical for both traffic safety and possible legal sanctions. Therefore, commercial vehicle drivers should check their existing tires and take necessary measures to ensure driving safety in adverse weather conditions.
This year’s changes make it necessary to consider both the winter tire obligation and tire changing costs. Thus, drivers should be prepared to prevent possible accidents in the winter season. When all necessary precautions are taken for safe and comfortable travel, even winter conditions will become a less problematic process for drivers.
