


The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has published the Public Enterprises Report for the year 2024. According to this report, the Public Economic Enterprise (SOE) portfolio includes a total of 33 public enterprises.
As of the end of last year, the Ministry achieved a total of 1.79 trillion lira in gross sales with 19 SOEs, one subsidiary of an SOE, 5 public banks, and 8 other institutions. In 2024, gross sales recorded a significant increase of %42 compared to the previous year.
The SOE system closed the year 2024 with an operating profit of approximately 83 billion lira. Although gross sales experienced a yearly increase of %42, the sales costs rose by %51.9 and operating expenses increased by %103.9, resulting in a net period loss of 56.6 billion lira.
The total asset size of the SOE system reached 4.28 trillion lira in 2024, an increase of %45.9 compared to the previous year. Additionally, total equity increased by %42.5, reaching 2.8 trillion lira. Total nominal capital grew by %29.7, becoming 1.2 trillion lira.
While the average employment in SOEs was 100,516 people in 2019, this number has decreased to 98,983 people in 2024. Meanwhile, the total employment costs of SOEs increased by %74.3 in 2024, reaching 108.1 billion lira. The monthly costs of SOE employees to the employer were observed to be 76,336 lira for civil servants and contracted personnel, and 104,722 lira for workers.
