A New Era in Public Procurement: Supplier Rating System

According to information obtained from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the DMO (State Supply Office) continues to fulfill its duty of centrally procuring the goods and services needed by public institutions and organizations.

In this process, the DMO has decided to establish the Supplier Rating and Certification System to make impartial and objective evaluations in public procurements, determining the qualifications of candidates and the technical compliance of products. This system aims to prevent faulty product procurements and to identify potential risks in advance.

Quality Service and Support for Domestic Production

With the established system, it is aimed to enhance the quality of products and services provided by suppliers. This approach will ensure that public institutions and organizations receive higher quality services and support domestic production. Additionally, it will contribute to the development of suppliers' production, market, and competitive capabilities.

How Will Suppliers Be Rated?

Suppliers will be rated based on various quantitative and qualitative criteria within the system. Suppliers listed on the DMO e-sales portal will be rated according to factors such as their ability to be included in the catalog, their financial structures, whether they are domestic producers, the quality levels of their products, and the quality of after-sales services they provide.

Thus, rated suppliers will be awarded certificates containing advantages and restrictions based on the classes they belong to. The DMO has determined the procedures and principles regarding the implementation of the Supplier Rating and Certification System.

Minister Şimşek: "Purchases Will Be Made According to Standards"

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek emphasized the importance of the collective purchasing model implemented by the DMO and stated, "DMO will certify the suppliers from whom it purchases based on certain criteria. This will contribute to public procurement being conducted at certain standards and improve the quality of services."
