Striking Development in Women’s Employment: SGK Premiums will be Paid by the State for 5 Years!

The Ministry of Family and Social Services has signed an important cooperation protocol with TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) to increase women's employment and representation in the tourism sector. This protocol covers various training and mentorship activities to enable women to take a more active and effective role in the sector.

Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş emphasized that priority would be given to the employment of young people raised in institutional care or under foster families within the scope of this program. She announced that if these young people are employed in agencies that are members of TÜRSAB, the employers' social security premiums will be covered by the state for 5 years.

This initiative, which identifies women entrepreneurship as a strategic priority, aims to enable relevant women to have a greater presence in the business world, thereby increasing the representation of women in the sector. The training programs will allow women to prepare for the sector and develop their professional skills. Mentorship activities to be carried out in this context aim to provide the necessary support and guidance.

Minister Göktaş stated that with the support provided through this program, young individuals will be ensured to have a stronger foundation in their career lives. Additionally, the payment of social security premiums by the state aims to enable employers to create more jobs and strengthen the place of women in the workforce. In this respect, the program offers a significant opportunity for economic development.

Especially at a time when women's participation in the labor force is increasing, such initiatives will hold an important place in employment policies. Although steps are being taken to boost women entrepreneurship, the effects of the implementation will be more visible in the long term. However, it is expected that with the initiation of the works, the visibility of women in the tourism sector will increase.
