Japan plans to bring in 1 million 231 thousand 900 skilled workers to address its labor shortage. According to a report by state television NHK, the draft of this plan has been prepared by the government and is expected to be implemented by March 2029.
In the first phase, it is aimed to accept a total of 805 thousand 700 skilled workers in 19 fields into Japan. These workers will primarily be employed in sectors such as food production, industrial manufacturing, and maintenance services.
In the second phase, 426 thousand 200 individuals will be offered the opportunity to become qualified personnel through a three-year training program in three fields: construction, industrial production, and the food sector. This will ensure the cultivation of individuals with sufficient expertise and experience.
The government aims to meet labor needs and increase productivity. This significant plan is expected to be presented for Cabinet approval in January.
