Japan plans to accept 1,231,900 qualified workers to address its labor shortage. According to state broadcaster NHK, the draft of this plan has been prepared by the government and is expected to be implemented by March 2029.
In the first phase, a total of 805,700 qualified workers from 19 sectors are targeted to be accepted into Japan. These workers will be employed primarily in sectors such as food product manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, and maintenance services.
In the second phase, 426,200 individuals will be given the opportunity to become qualified personnel through three years of training in three areas: construction, industrial production, and food sectors. This will ensure that individuals with sufficient expertise and experience are trained.
The government aims to meet labor needs and increase productivity. This significant plan is expected to be submitted for Cabinet approval in January.
