"Turkey-South Africa Relations Are Shaping in Istanbul"

The Turkey-Africa Business and Economy Forum (TABEF), held in Istanbul, aims to develop economic and strategic cooperation between Turkey and African countries. This important forum not only examines trade relations but also mutual investment opportunities between the two regions.

In one of the forum's focus sessions, a panel was held analyzing the Turkey-South Africa relations in depth. Thus, steps and strategies were aimed at increasing the economic potential of the two countries. While Turkey has drawn attention with its increasing interest in the African continent in recent years, South Africa stands as one of Turkey's strategic partners as the second largest economy on the continent.

During the panel, existing barriers to increasing trade volume were also discussed. It was noted that trade between Turkey and South Africa reached a level of 1.5 billion dollars as of 2022. This figure is expected to increase significantly as both sides develop their collaborations.

As one of Turkey's largest trading partners in the African market, South Africa offers cooperation opportunities in sectors such as energy, automotive, agriculture, and health. Of course, it was emphasized that mutual trust needs to be strengthened and job opportunities increased in order to better evaluate these opportunities.

At the forum in Istanbul, many business people and investors from different sectors came together to explore collaboration opportunities. Especially, Turkey's innovative solutions in the technology field received great interest in South Africa. Thus, the aim is to strengthen not only diplomatic relations but also commercial ties between the two countries.

Experts attending the forum emphasized that as Turkey's presence in Africa increases, relations with South Africa will deepen even further. Turkey's goal is to expand its sphere of influence across the continent while advancing its cooperation with South Africa.
