Inflation for December 2025 Announced in Istanbul

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the Istanbul Consumer Price Index and Wholesale Price Index data for December 2025. In December, as a result of retail price movements in Istanbul, the Consumer Price Index recorded a monthly increase of 1.23% and an annual increase of 37.68%.

Highest Price Increase in Restaurants and Hotels

The most significant price increases in the December 2025 price index were observed in restaurant and hotel expenditures. Significant price changes occurred in this group depending on market conditions. Additionally, price adjustments for some products in the healthcare expenditures category and price movements in housing and household goods expenditures were also noted. In the food expenditure group, the seasonal effects of winter were observed, while downward price changes were seen in clothing, footwear, and transportation expenditures.

What is the Wholesale Price Index?

The Wholesale Price Index, which is an important indicator for wholesale prices, showed an increase of %0.93 in December 2025. While this rate increased by %23.25 compared to the same month of the previous year, the annual average change was %26.95.
