ING Bank Śląski announced today that it has acquired a 55% stake in Goldman Sachs TFI, gaining 100% control of the Poland-based asset management company. Previously holding a 45% stake, ING now has the right to own the entire company after this acquisition.
ING Bank Śląski CEO Michał Bolesławski stated, "Considering the increasing wealth levels of Polish customers and significant demographic changes, we are seeing a shift in demand for alternative solutions instead of traditional savings products. We aim to meet their needs in a simple, digital, and secure way." Bolesławski also noted that having 100% control strengthens their position in the investment and pension market.
Goldman Sachs TFI serves over 736,000 customers and offers open investment funds and customized asset management portfolios across various asset classes. The company holds approximately 12% market share in the Polish market and manages assets worth PLN 48 billion.
ING Bank Śląski had held a 45% stake in Goldman Sachs TFI since 2019. Goldman Sachs Asset Management acquired a 55% stake after purchasing NN Investment Partners in 2022. ING signed a pre-sale agreement for the 55% stake at a price of PLN 396 million (approximately €93 million). Upon completion of the transaction, ING Bank Śląski's consolidated total capital ratio and Tier 1 ratio are expected to decrease by approximately 34 basis points.
ING Bank Śląski is one of the largest banks in Poland, providing services to over 5 million individual and corporate customers through digital channels. As of September 2025, customer deposits stand at PLN 230 billion, while customer loans amount to PLN 177 billion.
