Household Inflation Expectations Decline

In August of 2025, households' 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectations declined to 53%. This represents a decrease of 1.1 percentage point compared to the previous month.

Expectations of Market Participants and Real Sector

According to the report published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), annual inflation expectations of market participants and the real sector decreased to 22.3% and 36.8%, respectively. These data indicate that market dynamics have changed and participants are adopting a more cautious approach.

Hope for the Next 12 Months Diminished

The percentage of households expecting inflation to fall over the next year decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 27.4% compared to the previous month. This suggests that consumers have a more pessimistic outlook for the future.

Data Source: Consumer Tendency Survey

These data are compiled from the Survey of Market Participants, the Economic Tendency Survey and the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT). The survey contributes to the development of Sectoral Inflation Expectations by analyzing the inflation expectations of financial and real sector experts as well as manufacturing industry firms and households.
