The foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE made a critical joint statement regarding the complex situation in Gaza. The foreign ministers expressed serious concerns about Israel's unilateral opening of the Rafah Border Crossing aimed at relocating the residents of the Gaza Strip to Egypt.
The joint statement emphasized the unequivocal rejection of efforts to expel the Palestinian people from their land, and referred to the basic principles of the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. The ministers stated that the Rafah Border Crossing should remain open in both directions and that the freedom of movement of the people must be ensured. Otherwise, the displacement of the residents of the Gaza Strip would pose a serious situation threatening stability in the region.
In this context, the leaders strongly emphasized issues such as the continuation of the ceasefire and alleviating the suffering of civilians. They also expressed the need to ensure unimpeded access to humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and to commence early recovery and reconstruction efforts. It was noted that the Palestinian Authority's reestablishment of its responsibilities in the region is crucial for security and stability.
The ministers stated that they would continue to cooperate with the United States and other relevant regional and international actors to fully implement all decisions related to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. It was also emphasized that these efforts should facilitate the establishment of an independent Palestinian State within the framework of international law and pave the way for peace.
