Significant changes in the Price Tag Regulation have been published in the Official Gazette and have come into effect. These changes affect businesses providing food and beverage services such as restaurants, cafes, and bakeries.
Businesses that meet the criteria set by the Ministry of Trade are now required to submit their price list information to the Ministry via an electronic system. Thus, price information can be made available to the public in a transparent manner.
The procedures and principles of this new regulation will be announced by the Ministry of Trade.
From now on, for products sold by weight in the presence of consumers, the packaging weight will be mandatory reduced by the sellers. In addition, businesses providing food and beverage services will be able to present their price lists to consumers using the QR code method.
Upon consumer demand, businesses will also be obliged to display the price list physically.
Moreover, businesses that sell products such as books, magazines, and newspapers will be able to display price information not only through labeling but also via electronic devices.
